Sky Map online
Interactive Sky Map Online - for those Lovers of astronomy, who are looking into the telescope.
This online planetarium shows the major stars and nebulous objects at a given time over this place.
To use a starry Sky Map online, it is necessary to know the geographic coordinates of the place of observation.
Interactive night sky map online contains:
Catalog of stars "SKY2000", supplemented with data from the catalogs SAO and XHIP. Total - 298 457 stars.
Contains information about the stars (if possible): coordinates J2000, proper motions, the brightness V, stellar magnitude Johnson B, the color index Johnson BV, spectral type, luminosity (Sun), the distance from the Sun in parsecs, number exoplanets in April 2012, Fe / H, age, data on the variability and multiplicity
Galaxies, star clusters and nebulae Messier, Caldwell, Herschel 400 and NGC / IC can filter by type. In the catalog Caldwell there are no objects of Messier, Herschel 400 partially includes the first two directories.
Own names of the main stars, their symbols Greek letters and numbers from catalogs HD, SAO, HIP, HR;
The position of the eight major planets in the solar system, the brightest comets and asteroids;
Click any object on this online planetarium for looking up to 1x1° image neighborhoods and extended information about it.
It is possible to search Deep-Sky Objects (DSO) on the interactive night sky map in their numbers in the NGC / IC catalog and Messier.
As you enter the room, the map is centered on the coordinates of the search object.
Enter only the number of the object as it appears in these directories: without prefixes "NGC", "IC" and "M". For example: 1, 33, 7000, 4145A-1, 646-1, 4898-1, 235A, etc.
Three objects of other cataloges: C_41, C_99 of Caldwell and bright nebula Sh2_155 enter into the field "NGC" as it says here - with underlining and letters
As catalog NGC / IC used his modern version RNGC/IC (January 2, 2013) from the site Dr. Wolfgang Steinicke. Total 13958 objects.
About the maximum star-magnitude in this Star Map:
The weakest star of catalog SKY2000, which is used in the Sky Map Online, has a brightness of 12.9m (m - "magnitude"). If you are interested in just the stars, keep in mind, that after about 9-9.5m begin gaps in SKY2000, than on the more (this decline after a certain value - a common occurrence for catalogs of stars). But if you need the stars only for search for nebulous objects through a telescope, then introducing restrictions 12m you will get noticeably more stars for better orientation.
If you will set 12m in box "stars brighter" the maximum and click "Renew data", then the booting time of directory (17Mb) can take up to 30 seconds or more - depending the speed of your Internet.
By default, this Sky Map Online loaded only the stars till V=6m (2.4Mb). Know the injected volume, it is important to configure the interval for auto-update the map, if you have limited Internet traffic.
When turn off "Pictures of telescope "Hubble" ", shows only black-and-white pictures that more honest show images available in the amateur telescope.
